Burning Man 2026's theme is Axis Mundi — the World Tree that runs through nearly every mythology, roots in the underworld and branches in the heavens. And in many of those same myths, the World Tree grows from the back of the World Turtle. Turtles all the way down.
So Terrible Turtle's mascot isn't near the theme — it's the foundation the whole theme stands on. Even the city agrees: this year the streets are named for world-trees and sacred centers — Ararat, Bodhi, Ceiba, Great Oak, Iroko. Black Rock City is itself an Axis Mundi in 2026. This deck is that tree, on that turtle.
